Night Driver/Dark Passenger

from Kaleidoscope by Jack Alberson

/

about

"Night Driver" is one of two instrumental compositions for Kaleidoscope. It is inspired by the old video game of the same number (I spent many an hour frustratingly playing it on the Atari 2600 as a kid) and includes a couple sounds from the game. The version on EP4 is a little longer.

"Dark Passenger" is the song that kicked off this songwriting cycle. It was originally composed prior to my Tiny Tour to promote TRIALS back in September of 2018 (I tend to only book live performances when I have something new or different practiced up to play). I debuted it intentionally in Chicago, Illinois, as a love letter to the WaxTrax music I grew up being warped by. Fun fact: the first release from the label that I owned was Front 242's Never Stop EP. I should cover that song.
