I've been threatening to release something like this for a long time. I write a lot of stuff, and sit on a fair amount of it (or it changes, years later, blooming into something else). Here are 14 mostly listenable, enjoyable cuts from a very chaotic time in my life.

THE SONGS:

"Terror in the Aisles" is a different song than the one that ended up on Confidence (see "Quiet Houses"). This one's from 2010.

"Shame Shame Shame" was written in 2014 with Confidence in mind, but never made it to 5 & Dime.

"The Present" was released long ago (2012) on the very first Be Here Tinnitus EP.

"Ampersands" appears here as a home recording (created in 2014 just prior to tracking at 5 & Dime). There is a more fleshed out demo version, but this one is fun.

"Pale Boundaries" was released as a one-off single some time ago (2013?). It was recorded at my mom's house as an experiment with new equipment (a new synth and mic).

"Quiet Houses" was rewritten, edited down and became "Terror In the Aisles" on the Confidence album. It's a very old song. Here's a version I threw together in 2014.

"Good Job, Bub!" was written about a magical cat. Recorded shortly after Intimate Objects so ... late 2013?

"Juicebox" is the original demo for "Sundaydrunk". Recorded at home in late 2013.

"Slowdance" was recorded in 2008, making it the oldest thing on here. Only song I know of that references the Jeff Healey Band. Released with "The Present" a billion years ago.

"The Situation"? 2012 - same release as "Slowdance" and "The Present". Why I don't use my melodica more is beyond me.

"Your Rome" is from 2015. I think I was finished with Confidence and had started writing new songs. Owes way too much to A.R. Kane and Depeche Mode for its own good.

"Call It A Day" was recorded in 2010 and released in 2012. There's a really gloomy demo of this laying around, but this one follows "Your Rome" up very nicely.

"Elise" is ... I don't really know. I have a feeling it's from the same time (2010) or frame of mind (batshit crazy) as "Terror In the Aisles". Elise is the name of my friend Aimee's daughter, but I don't know if that's why I called this "Elise". I could have just been listening to The Cure a lot.

This version of "Kiss Off, Stranger" was recorded in at home in 2015 after the album came out, and used for a 'video' I made and slapped up on YouTube. Actually really like this a lot.

And finally, "Next Turn" was originally released in 2011 when I made the mistake of going it alone as Shortwave Dahlia. It didn't feel right at all, but these songs are good. Recorded in 2009-2010.
